Asbestos Surveys

We conduct UK wide asbestos surveys in line with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006.

Our experienced asbestos surveyors are qualified to carry out asbestos surveys of industrial sites, offices, shops and other premises (whatever their size) to the standards set out in the Health and Safety Executive Guidance Note HSG 264 Asbestos: The Survey Guide.
 
There are 2 types of asbestos survey which we undertake:

Management Survey is a standard survey and will be used for the purposes of managing asbestos within properties.  The survey will often involve minor intrusive work and some disturbance to facilitate foreseeable maintenance and related activities and can involve a combination of sampling to confirm asbestos is present or presuming asbestos to be present. An assessment of the condition and ability to release fibres into the air if they are disturbed in some way will also be undertaken for each asbestos containing material.  

Refurbishment Survey is required for all works which disturb the fabric of the building in areas where the management survey has not been intrusive.  A demolition survey should be conducted in the whole building if demolition is planned.  A refurbishment and demolition survey is also required when more intrusive maintenance and repair work will be carried out or for plant removal or dismantling. 
 
On completion of the asbestos survey you would receive the following:
  • A comprehensive report detailing whether the site contains asbestos and where it is, or is presumed to be.
  • A survey report containing photographs of the areas sampled.
  • Recommendations on what you should do next.
  • An asbestos register to identify areas to monitor.
  • Guidance on completing your asbestos management plan.
